BMJ article: reporting bias in trials of homeopathy

A new study published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) highlights a well-known problem affecting all areas of medical research known as ‘reporting bias’, which can distort the overall evidence for how well a medical treatment works, usually over-estimating the benefits. The study focuses specifically on trials of homeopathy.

New WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine

The World Health Organization and the Government of India have signed an agreement to establish a knowledge centre for traditional medicine with the aim of harnessing the potential of traditional medicine from across the world through modern science and technology to improve the health of people and the planet.

ECHAMP Comment: Prejudice against Homeopathy Research

ECHAMP believes that this prevailing bias on homeopathy by some press and research institutions is having a damaging effect on patients and society, by denying them objective facts and reporting on homeopathy.

Lucas Von Hebel 1934–2022

ECHAMP is sorry to announce the death of our first President, Lucas Von Hebel on 22 February 2022. Lucas was President of ECHAMP from 1999-2005, instrumental in its inception and with the significant responsibility of steering the association through the first important years of growth.

European Parliament endorses the use of integrative medicine

Two recent reports from the European Parliament recognise the benefits of integrative medicine, stressing the importance of developing ‘a holistic, integrative and patient-centric approach’ and encouraging the use of complementary therapies where appropriate.
