ECHAMP’s Annual Report 2021 presents a significant future for homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products

Feb 16, 2022

ECHAMP’s 2021 Annual Report is now available on its website.

It showcases another important year for the industry for homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products, providing a look back on the year gone by and a spotlight on a number of important new trends, offering an insight into the way forward in a rapidly evolving environment.

In the Annual Report, ECHAMP emphasises the value of understanding the potential contribution of the industry for homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products and its wider sector, in particular in the context of the European Pharmaceutical Strategy and the European Commission’s proposals on developing a stronger EU Health Union. ECHAMP both supports the Commission’s goal, but at the same time seeks to ensure that movement towards a stronger unification in the area of health does not have a negative impact on the ‘established’ products. ECHAMP argues that only an inclusive system, which facilitates innovation and fully exploits the potential of existing products, in a regulatory framework that continues to respect national competence and national traditions, will deliver the best healthcare for every EU citizen.

ECHAMP President, David Reckeweg Lecompte explains, “Our sector has a significant contribution to make in building an integrated and sustainable future Health Union. A number of trends, including the ‘One Health’ approach, the drive towards a greener Europe and the increasing profile of Integrative Medicine, open up a world in which the full potential of our sector can be better understood and exploited.” He confirms ECHAMP’s commitment to this future, saying,  “We will continue to work to meet the needs of the patients who choose to use our products and to realise the potential of this sector.”
