MEP Interest Group on Integrative Medicine and Health: oncology and mental health

The MEP Interest Group on Integrative Medicine and Health is focusing efforts on the contribution of integrative medicine in the fields of both oncology and mental health, with a Breakfast Roundtable planned for 7 June.

Breakfast roundtable on Integrative Oncology

The MEP Interest Group on Integrative Medicine and Health is organising a Breakfast Roundtable on Integrative Oncology on 07 June 2023 in the European Parliament in Brussels, hosted by Manuela Ripa MEP.

This roundtable follows the Integrative Oncology conference hosted by Interest Group in 2020, and is part of an ongoing examination of the contribution of integrative oncology to improve outcomes of cancer treatment. A panel of high profile experts will explore the added value for patients of various integrative treatments and discuss best practices of integration across Europe.

Integrative Oncology is a holistic and patient-centred approach to cancer care, that utilises practices from different medical traditions alongside conventional cancer treatments, aiming to optimize health, quality of life, and clinical outcomes in all stages of the disease. Integrating these traditions into mainstream care ensures safety, provides a coherent treatment approach and responds to frequent requests of patients. Multiple studies have demonstrated the benefit and potential of integrative cancer care in reducing patient suffering and improving long-term prospects.

The Breakfast is an in-person meeting from 8:30-10:00 CEST in Room ASP 1E3 of the European Parliament. Places are limited; register by 30 May. Visit the EUROCAM website to view the agenda and list of speakers.

Integrative Mental Health

EUROCAM has launched a new position paper ‘Integrative Mental Health – The Way Forward'.

This comes as a follow up to the MEP Interest Group event 'Integrative Mental Health - the way forward', held in the European Parliament in March.

The report and recording of that event are now also both available and available on the EUROCAM website.
