New edition of European Pharmacopoeia

The ninth edition of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) is now available, giving access to all European quality standards that come into effect on 1 January 2017. This is Europe’s legal and scientific benchmark for pharmacopoeial standards which contribute to delivering high quality medicines in Europe and beyond, applicable in 37 European countries and used in over 100 countries worldwide. Over 50% of the 9th Edition’s content is new compared to the 8th Edition.

A new monograph „Magnesium fluoratum for homeopathic preparations (2676)” has been added.The following monographs concerning homeopathic preparations have been revised:

• Mother tinctures for homoeopathic preparations (2029)
• Pillules for homoeopathic preparations (2153)
• Agaricus phalloides for homoeopathic preparations (2290)

• Aurum chloratum natronatum for homoeopathic preparations (2916)
• Barium chloratum for homoeopathic preparations (2142)
• Calcium iodatum for homoeopathic preparations (2144)
• Ignatia for homoeopathic preparations (2513)
• Magnesium phosphoricum for homoeopathic preparations (2505)
• Nux-vomica for homoeopathic preparations (2514)
